Welcome to The Fulfillment Center. The Center was established to facilitate fulfillment—it’s a Brooklyn-based service that allows me to trade art for things I want (with some money changing hands to make it all work more quickly and easily). Here’s how it works: I draw things I love and would love to own, and sell the drawings for the price of the subject, including any necessary shipping and tax (and including $3 to mail it to you in a sturdy container—if you can pick it up in Brooklyn, I will deduct that fee and international orders will include additional cost).

If you like a drawing, you can buy it (with PayPal or cash if you’re in New York City). I’ll print it out (8” x 10”—let me know if you’d like a smaller size), mail it to you, and use the money you gave me to buy the thing. Once I’ve acquired the subject of the drawing, I’ll post a picture.

If I end up buying the object myself, I get to keep the drawing, and even if I never acquire the object, I’m still happy to spend the time drawing something I like.

I’ve been considering adding additional departments to The Fulfillment Center. If you’re interested in hearing more about a Performance Department (where I would draw things live and in person), a Department of Registration (where I would draw your gift registry for your wedding, baby shower, birthday, etc. and give you a thank you card with a drawing of each object, as well as a big drawing of all of them together), or a 3-D Department with View-Master compatible drawings, let me know! Otherwise I will continue to mull these and other ideas over and let you know about any new developments here and with a regular post.

My name is Kirsten Hively, and if you’d like to know more about me, you can read my blog, look at my photos, or see another recent project of mine.
